DRAMA (Enrolment Form Link)
Drama is fun and rewarding for all ages, young kids and teens alike. It is an enjoyable way for students to develop their confidence and uniqueness in a safe and non-competitive environment. Shy children blossom and more outgoing children learn to focus their energy constructively!
Key skills and developmental benefits include:
· performance and public appearance skills (voice/speech, storytelling, characterisation,
mime, movement, film, and theatre)
· social interaction and communication skills
· enhanced self-esteem and confidence
· develops creativity, imagination and spontaneity
· being able to learn to take risks in a safe, supportive and fun environment.
All of our teachers at No1 Drama Studio have a passion to help their students expand and enhance their dramatic skills and personal attributes. Our programmes are very different from most other classes found in local dance and drama schools, as we focus on developing a number of skills, with a phased approach across different age groups. Our younger classes work towards comprehension, following instructions, creative mime and movement, nursery rhyme and poetry recitation, short scripts, little productions and on-camera work. The older classes begin to look at the real craft of acting, with students engaging developing improvisation skills, theatre sports, mime and movement, scene work and building of scene, stage craft and camera skills, analysis of scripts, dialogue and accents, understanding voice techniques (voice as and instrument) different genres of theatre, preparing monologues.
The learning experiences that our drama lessons provide are invaluable for personal growth. The activities are developmentally appropriate and will cater for the interests and abilities of each student, to ensure that each individual is able to reach their full potential.
Drama is truly a wonderful and engaging activity for young people, with benefits that last a lifetime, so contact us now to enrol.
